Valentines Day

Valentines Day

Today Friday, February 12th, 2010 my girlfriend and I are celebrating Valentines Day. We decided to celebrate two days earlier to avoid the crowds and rush of the actually Valentines Day. Our plan was to see a movie and have dinner. But first we exchanged gifts before we hit the town. One of the gifts I received from her was totally unexpected but a wonderful surprise. Before the movie and dinner date she made a reservation for us both to get pedicures. I know right? I’m a dude. Guys don’t get pedicures. Yeah well I was wrong.

My wonderful girlfriend knew that I’ve been struggling with sore feet and a bruised heel at work the last month. So she thought a pedicure and a massage would help. And how! You take your feet for granted when they are 100% healthy. When they’re not healthy it makes a person grumpy. The pedicure and massage was awesome. The massage was the best part. I don’t know what its was called but I also got a procedure that dipped my feet in a warm wax sock. It felt really good man. My feet felt great after that visit.

During the pedicure visit snow started to drop heavy, well heavy for a non-snow metropolitan town that doesn’t expect it on a regular basis. Only several inches, but it was perfect for tonight’s Valentines date. It was a wonderful addition to our great night. The next stop was the movie.

Opening today nationally was the star studded movie Valentine’s Day. Directed by Hollywood heavy weight Gary Marshall. It was nice to share a movie like this with my girlfriend on the actually Valentines Day weekend. The movie has a great cast young and old of many of Hollywood’s biggest stars. It takes place in L.A. and covers a day in the life of many people on Valentines Day, and how their lives intertwine with one another. Parts were predictable, and parts were not. The movie was very entertaining and a lot of fun.

After a quick stop at Toy’s R Us where my girlfriend picked up some gifts for her daughter, we went to dinner for a wonderful meal of Italian food at the Macaroni Grill. There is a great selection of food here. The ambiance and restaurant staff is a lot of fun. The snow had continued to drop. Afterwards we had a little fun outside the restaurant and threw some snowballs around. We took some lectures and I made a tiny snowman outside the restaurant.

It’s nice to know that after all of this time on earth, I can honestly say this was the best Valentines Day to date. Thank you Jane Davis. Love you.
